Mediumship Today
It is a sad realisation that Mediumship is not what it used to be. Since the end of the second world war, things have taken a destictive dip. Yes there are still good mediums about, but not like there used to be. Take the modern day platform medium, how many today "Cast the Net" so to speak, throw out the communicator to the open crowd, which often gets many people accepting a name, Bye the time it is sorted out, 10/15 minutes of valuable communication time has been lost. It is also a situation which enables the "meassage grabbers" an open platform to claim everything and anything that comes their way. What happened to going directly to a person and telling them that they have a communicator wanting to make a link with them. How did we get into this messey situation that we are in today.
I see the problem as, trying to achieve something before they are ready. Training, or lack of it, platform mediums being up there before they are ready. How often these days do you get really good philosopy. Not very often from my experiences and when you do get it, the mediumship is often sadly lacking.
Even Physical Mediumship has taken a real hammering. Those great physical mediums of the past where scrutinised , tested, and retested and in some cases, to breaking point. Many have been accussed of fraudulent practises and one even faulesly jailed for it. Today we have very few physical mediums, and these could not even hold a candle to the great mediums of the past, and those who choose to make themselves know to the public are pretty unscrupulas anyway. Ego is much more important, mediums who are interested in one thing, "Money" the "Big Buck". In many cases there is not even communication from a loved one, NO PROOF of survival. Isn't that what it is all about, bringing forward those who have made the transition and coming back to prove that life is eternal to those that they have left behind?

Your remarks re the lack of good evidence and good physical mediums since the end of the second world war..............
What was going on during the world war's that aided the developement of all forms of mediumship? Mass loss, every household was touched by the same plight, their was a deep understanding and compassion shown to each other, I think in part it was this understanding of loss and the true spirit of communites that aided the developement especially of physical mediumship.............people had true empathy for each other, the loss of someone in your street was felt by every neighbour, it was this sense of pulling together I believe that helped create the right environment for such developement within the home circles to flourish.
